The game presents players with a challenging scenario where the Alien's true objective is to escape the base, hidden under a veil of fake humanity, either by collaborating with humans or openly revealing its monstrous nature to assimilate the team.

Humans, on the other hand, must try to survive, maintaining Outpost 31 and choosing the best way to escape among the three available options. Crucially, they must also test their fellow team members to reveal the Alien and identify who is still human. This road to victory is truly challenging, but not impossible.

The game offers eight characters with different special abilities for players to choose from. As the game progresses, the rising paranoia of not knowing who can be trusted may cloud the players' decisions, leading to covert strategy changes when one becomes part of the Thing.
